Mark was able to talk me through it. He reminded me that the best thing to do with said Ethiopian is to isolate her in a time out. Remove her from the scene. I implemented this tactic and...voila! Well, not quite voila, but it is working. The sweet kid that boarded the airplane is slowly returning. And this means I have more confidence to go out and explore,
So, Charlene and I were feeling optimistic, so we decided to venture out and check out the town (village? city?) of Saint-Émilion. It had come recommended to us from several separate sources. Lots of chateaus and wine, wine and more wine. Which is so great with 4 kids in tow. Hmmm, not so much. So we set off in the morning (this morning) and drove the 45 minutes to the city center. Hey Mandy! Thanks for sharing your blog and all these lovely thoughts and experiences. Sometimes I've enjoyed my travels more and more after they are over! Meaning, as you live and struggle through some of the rough stuff it can make you want to quit and run home, but there will be a day when you'll look back and say, "Wow, that was so awesome!" You are giving such a gift to your kids! Maya just doesn't know it yet! Anyhow, I'll be praying the well behaved 2 year old shows up soon. Enjoy your adventure!
ReplyDeleteI knew you would have some challenges...but you always overcome every challenge put in front of you! You couldn't have it any other way! Gabe loved to see the pic of Casey in the hail!
