Readying the roost...and the troops

Maya making sure her dentures will make it through airport security

So, here I am, back in blogland. I guess since I only update this blog when we are on a crazy travel adventure, it's time again. As most of you know, me and Maya (2 3/4 yrs, Cuz the 3/4 actually DOES make a huge difference) and Casey (6+ yrs) and my friend, C (I haven't asked her yet if it's okay to use her name here), and her 2 kids (4 mos and 18 mos. I know. Shut up) are headed to Bordeaux, France for another home exchange. Yup. Ore a voyr. That's how they spell it, right? We will be there for 2 months. Arpil 1st to June 1st. And we will be living about 10 minutes from the city center of Bordeaux. This is about 2 hours from Spain. Now we're talkin'! We will have there cars to drive. Stayed tuned for pictures in upcoming posts of C driving their manual vehicle after 3 days worth of lessons here.

The husbands aren't coming. Nope. Jobs and stuff are going to keep them busy. So Mark is going to live with C's husband, J. Yes. Can you believe it? They were both fine with the proposition. And once J saw that Mark has an X-Box, all of a sudden they were both TOTALLY fine with the idea. I heard Mark mention something about needing a "wingman" on a particular game. Oh. My.

So the next adventure begins. And I will tell ya all about it. the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY. I promise.

My parents graciously took the kids this weekend so we could purge and organize and get the house ready. And we leave 2 weeks from today. Oy. Vey. It's coming...quickly.

Here's what we have been doing to keep ourselves busy before the trip...
