Preparations

So, if you are tuning into this blog, it's probably because I have blabbed enough about this trip and you have been Facebooked or emailed and now you feel obligated to check it out. So I will try and make it worth your while. The real deal. The "I have been hanging out with just my family for 3 months and I am ready to take a plunge off of the Eiffel Tower" kind of real.

And for those of you who don't know the situation, I will lay it out for ya. We are participating in a home exchange with a family from Trier, Germany. We found each other through a home exchange web site. They wanted to come to the San Francisco area for 3 months and we wanted to head to Europe for 3-4 months. So when I happened upon them I emailed and the rest is history!

So we are packing our bags (yes, lots of them. Come on. 4 people, 3 months. You can imagine) and making arrangements and heading out on February 17th.
We are excited, anxious, overwhelmed, giddy, and all over the place. It's all a very strange feeling to try and tie things up here and embrace the adventure. But, with less than 3 weeks to go before our departure, it's go time.
